Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real-estate brokerage. In 2001, it was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran left the company shortly thereafter. Corcoran was one of the original Shark Tank investors. She was a regular on every episode of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran has signed 53 deals in February 2020. Her largest deal was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in an Irish-Catholic working class family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover between jobs and the next during Corcoran's early years. Her family sometimes relied on the free delivery of food from a nearby supermarket. Corcoran recalls her father as a man who often consumed too much alcohol and was rude to her mother and contempt, particularly when he was drinking. Corcoran had difficulty at school and discovered later she was dyslexic. Corcoran went to an Catholic elementary school in her neighborhood and began the high school year at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood.
