Jennifer Rene Psaki

  Jennifer Rene Psaki is a American political advisor who served as the 34th White House news secretary between 2021 and 222. As a member of the Democratic Party, she previously worked in the Obama administration as the White House deputy press secretary (2009) as well as the White House deputy communications director (2009-2011) as well as the spokesperson of the United States Department of State (2013-2015) and as the White House communications director (2015-2017. Psaki was an CNN political contributor from 2017 and 2020. Psaki started her career in 2001 with the re-election campaigns for Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate and Tom Vilsack for governor. Psaki was then named as the deputy press secretary for John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. Between 2005 and 2006, Psaki served as communications director for U.S. representative Joseph Crowley as well as the regional press secretary of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki returned in 2012 for the field of political communications, serving as press secretary for President Obama’s 2012 campaign for reelection. 20 years ago, Psaki was named spokesperson for the United States Department of State in February 2013. It was believed that she would replace Jay Carney as White House Press Secretary.[21] However, Josh Earnest was announced to succeed Carney on May 30 in 2014. She returned to the White House in 2015 to be the director of communications. She was a part of the Obama administration until the end of its term.
