She is famous for her roles in Spamalot's West End original production and the Regent's Park revival of Into the Woods. Her work has been acknowledged with three Olivier Award nominations. In 2015, she joined Game of Thrones' fifth series as Septa Unella. Additionally she played the lead role in the role of Septa Unella in the 2012 film version of Les Miserables. Waddingham was nominated for the Golden Globe Award. She has been playing the role of Rebecca Welton on the Apple TV+ comedy series Ted Lasso from 2020.
